Edward Preston Badger Plane
The Edward Preston wooden badger plane has a skewed mouth and blade. What makes
this different to a normal skew mouth plane is the blade is slightly rotated.
This rotation benefits its use for rebate work.
The spur on the handle of this plane is very susceptable to having been chipped,
repaired or rounded off during its life therefore it is much more desirable and
thus slightly more valuable to find this plane with a good sound handle.
Plane Use
The Preston badger plane is used for rebate work and used for smoothly cutting across the grain to achieve a good finish.
